On 23 May 2024, NMRC recognised and celebrated outstanding individuals who received grants and awards in the 2023 grant/award call cycles at the NMRC Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium 2024. NHG and LKCMedicine Teams Secure 2 Out Of 3 Open Fund-Large Collaborative Grant (OF-LCG) Awarded to New Projects
In the 2024 grant call, 1 NHG-led and 1 LKCMedicine-led research teams namely ADEPT and TARIPH, have each secured S$10 million funding under the Open Fund-Large Collaborative Grant (OF-LCG), a nationally competitive research grant that is awarded to outstanding teams to support patient-centric translational research.
1. The Academic Respiratory Initiative for Pulmonary Health (TARIPH)
Aimed at studying Asian respiratory diseases, this multi-party led by A/Prof Sanjay Chotirmall (LKCMedicine) will deliver a national respiratory research programme to improve our understanding of Asian endophenotypes of lung diseases, and aims to position Singapore as a key academic respiratory hub for the wider Asian sub-continent.
2. Atopic DErmatitis research Program for patienTs (ADEPT)
Targeted at the most common skin disorder in Singapore representing high clinical burden, as a multi-thematic and multidisciplinary study team led by A/Prof Steven Thng (NSC) comprising of dermatologists, scientists, and engineers, ADEPT aims to understand the causes and disease progression of Atopic Dermatitis in the Asian context and develop cutting edge diagnostic tools and therapies to improve health outcomes.

Listed below are 22 clinician-scientists and researchers from NHG and LKCMedicine who have clinched talent development awards and competitive grants in the January and July 2023 NMRC Grant Calls
