ACSI Fireside Chat with Prof Zee Upton
On 24 October, faculty members and clinicians gathered for an enriching evening with Prof Zee Upton, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Moderated by Dr Joseph Lo, Head and Senior Consultant of Vascular Surgery Service at Woodlands Health, the Fireside Chat provided a unique platform for an open and engaging dialogue on research and innovation in healthcare.

Drawing from her extensive experience in both Singapore and Australia, Prof Upton provided compelling insights into the comparative strengths and differences in the mentality, ecosystem, and policy support of both countries. She shared how these factors uniquely shaped the research and innovation landscape of both countries.


During the conversational-style discussion, Prof Upton gave her nuggets of advice and shared her opinion on themes holding significant promise for future research and innovation efforts. Her insightful perspectives at the fireside chat added to the attendees’ thoughts on pushing the boundaries of research and innovation.
